Travel and the Trump Administration

If you have been reading this blog, you know that I didn’t book any trips in 2016 for 2017.

I feared if Trump was elected president US relations could be damaged with countries I had booked trips to visit.

Well,  it has been 10 days, 8 business days since Trump was inaugurated and  I know for a fact that I won’t get a Visa to visit Iran.

About three months ago, I posted an article about  Abercrombie & Kent: Iran.  I thought the trip would be a once in a lifetime, as I am/was scared about traveling to that country but trusted the A&K brand.

Since the Trump Administration Muslim ban, Iran has issued a response stating its intent toward reciprocal measures for US citizens.  That statement alone places Iran on my personal no-fly list for at least 5 years.

Interestingly, I checked A&K’s site this afternoon and the trip is still posted on the US site without warnings of Visa issues.

Travel in 2017 may not be as exotic as I was hoping.
